Patients Know Best (PKB)

A few links (provided by PKB)  to help the planning of a test channel to send PKB PV file data....

We have discussed the mechanics of generating HL7 messages from the existing data formats using mirth transforms. We already use Mirth. 'David Grange' <david.grange@patientsknowbest.com> is very familiar with this (it is in fact what PKB were going to suggest). PKB could definitely offer assistance in configuring this. Some example configurations are here http://dev.patientsknowbest.com/home/hl7-api/integration-engine-configuration

We should focus on the PV dataset first.  The HL7 API supports all the message types that would be required - demographics, diagnoses, medications, tests / measurements, letters / documents. There inevitably are some details that we will need to work through (e.g. unique ids for the tests) but it all seemed doable from this early discussion. The idea being to use the RDA output of PV-to-RDA as the source file for transforming which would allow usage with true RDA files if required.

Moving forwards the data will flow from PKB to the UKRDC for PV a receiving channel to convert the incoming PKB data to RDA for storage in RaDaR etc. We still don't know how the feeds would be  enabled on PKB beyond us giving them an initial list of identifiers. individual patients could choose to turn off this feeds
