Before starting on doing the work detailed in a ticket it should first be marked as in progress. If you are not already assigned the Task then you should also ensure you are the assignee. All work done on the task and time taken should be filled in on the Work Log associated with the ticket. On a completed task the work log should give a clear indication of what has been done on a given task and how long it has taken. In the case of bug fixes there should be a clear explanation of cause and fix so that it can act as a reference if similar issues arise again.

The comment fields should be used to clarify the task if required and add extra information and notes. It may also have a summary comment added when a task is completed. If the details provided are not sufficient to carry out the task then this should be raised directly with the creator and the description updated or a comment added to expand the requirements sufficiently.

As he Ticket is progressed the different stages of the work flow should be used appropriately. Each project can have a different workflow and it is important that the ticket status reflects correctly where a ticket is at. If the work flow doesn't have a suitable state to cover the current status then a modification of the work flow should be considered to ensure the tickets can fully capture the progress.
