Purpose

In order for the Statistics team to compile their AKI reports every quarter(really quarter plus two months) to the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the Statistics team need to be able to access the relevant AKI data for report generation.

Two reports one twice a year, the other every quarter.

To facilitate this a data pipeline is required, whose sole main aim is to facilitate the required data access for any AKI data they need to achieve their goal.

Requirements

There are two requirements to this the main requirement is to:

  • Build out the infrastructure, mechanisms and processes to allow the Statistics team access to the correct data for their reports.

The above needs to be broken down even further and the text in bold needs defining so what is the "correct data"? This comprises of two aspects a temporal one and a data choice one:

  • Temporal:

This is relating to what point in time are the CCG and therefore the Statistics team interested in for each of their quarterly reports. (range quarter - 2 month to quarter + 1 month for lab report for lab report and CCG lab report month - 6 months and month + 6 months.

  • Data Choice:

This relates to the "What data do they need?" question:

Data PointDescription
NHS NumberCan be obtained from the AKI Database, due to Information Governance has to be anonymous when viewed by Statistics team for now. There is a need to distinguish between patients so the resulting cipher text needs to be the same across all records of the same patient.
NHS Number from Patient TracingThe returned number from the Patient Tracing process, again needs to be anonymous
