Outstanding Tasks
  • Andrew Atterton has updated the NHSBT documentation
  • George Swinnerton hasn't looked at the duplicate RaDaR membership codes
  • james.griffin (Unlicensed) has provided a breakdown of errors and what checks are made by the validation code. George Swinnerton pointed out that NHS numbers of 9 characters instead of 10 could have a leading zero missing as they are stored as a number a could be valid CHI numbers.
  • james.griffin (Unlicensed) has completed the correction script for the prem data
  • The kings files have very few errors preventing the files loading just an incorrect ODS 0000 EnteredAt code however the content of the files has a number of issues preventing an extract.
Treatment centres missing, duplicate treatment entries, incorrect closure dates for historic records (possibly caused when the data was migrated and defaulted to a date) They have fixed weights being sent that are zero (George Swinnertonnoted that the validation may not be checking this correctly as the range checks may include zero even though it is invalid for a persons weight). There are also a number of patients with no treatment records as they have not moved on to dialysis but are included because of their PV memberships. George Swinnertonsuggested an appropriate treatment entry to indicate this would ensure the extract can exclude them.
  • George Swinnerton hasn't progressed the nurture extract merging.
  • Relocation moves slowly awaiting contract now all paperwork has been submitted.
  • Validation Andrew Attertonhas finished off the simple tasks that were in progress finalising RR-1427 and is now addressing the sprint tasks. George Swinnertonhas progressed some of the more complex tasks.
RaDaRThere is a RaDaR meeting this week and Fiona has identified a number of higher priority tasks which will need progressing. Timescales will be agreed at the meeting. Progress on these should not prevent the UI being progressed.
EQUALGeorge wiil need to do a matching for Barney this week now he has improved the demographics for the EQUAL patients.
Audit FilesShaun has been checking the audit files have been loaded looking at the file load table and found a file that hasn't been loaded however it appears the file has been and it is unclear why it is not recorded. This anomaly needs investigation. The site is one of Jo's and it will be followed up when she is next in.
Budget for Systems

Possible things to include in the budget for next year were discussed to do with improved development hardware and extra screens which should both be possible as part of the move. Books and programming resources should be covered from the training budget. The server setup in Bristol needs improving primarily to allow for the servers to be independently restarted with out affecting each other. In addition rr-storage-live is short on space with a reasonable amount taken up by virtual machine images and historic archive data. Rearranging the server storage with new storage on the HyperV servers could remove the VM images and moving the archive data to a server at aimes would also reduce the issue of storage space. So currently the main item on the budget is money for extra harddrives in Bristol. Along side this some thought needs to be given to backups and how these would be managed. Currently a tape job is run which  requires NBT to change the tape daily etc.

Long term we would look to make more use of cloud services and adopting a more hybrid solution.
